Best Practices Assessment

In 4 short weeks, we provide a cost-effective way to benchmark your operating practices and performance levels against those of the world-class operations. Then, we develop a step-by-step Action Plan that includes:

  • specific recommendations
  • the Best Practices to be implemented
  • a plant-wide involvement strategy and
  • quantifiable success measures

We first have you fill out an initial information questionnaire to give us some information about your specific objectives and concerns regarding your organization and operation.

On site, we spend about a week analyzing and observing operations on all shifts and interviewing plant personnel. We identify opportunities to:

  • Reduce mfg. costs - through the elimination of manufacturing waste and other inefficiencies,
  • Eliminate quality problems - by helping to build-in quality and prevent defects on the line
  • Improve customer service - by cutting lead times by 50% or more
  • Implement continuous improvement - by installing a sustainable process that unifies the organization and achieves 100% employee participation,
  • Improve leadership - by developing coaches and team leaders (not fire-fighters).

A brief management report outlines our findings, recommendations and an Action Plan, quantifying performance improvement opportunities.

We wrap up with a full-day workshop to present our findings and Implementation Road Map. You retain the option of self-implementation or using Granite Bay to keep you focused. Timing: 4 - 6 weeks.
